K9 Care Puppy Training Classes

Our puppy classes take a new approach to puppy training. Classes are designed to make training fun, mixing play with training keeping your puppy happy and eager to learn. The methods used are effective and are guaranteed to give your puppy the best possible start in life, enabling it to grow and develop into an obedient, happy and well balanced dog.

You will not only learn how to train your puppy effectively, you will learn how your puppy thinks and learns and most importantly, how to be a benevolent leader. You will also learn how to progress your puppy’s training at home and how to generalise and proof the behaviours your puppy has learned. All of which are extremely important subjects that are sadly missing in many puppy training classes.

Puppies are given time out to play together under supervision at the end of each session, allowing them to relax, have fun and improve their social skills. Puppies are also handled by a number of people getting them used to interacting with lots with different people at an early age. This approach produces a dog which is calm, confident and relaxed when meeting other dogs and people.

We recommend that training begins as early as possible and puppies should join Grade 1A Foundation training at 11–12 weeks old but can join up to the age of 6 months. Each session is different covering at least two new behaviours – no boring repetition here. Due to this, puppies can only join at the beginning of each course. Maximum 6 puppies per class.

The grade 1 puppy training course consists of:

Introduction, Stopping biting, Introduction to the clicker, Recall, Sit, Down, Look at me, Loose leash walking, Handling, Leave it.
